I wanted these lights for calm lighting at night. These lights are very nice for that with different brightness settings and different modes. I keep my lights on mode 8 – steady on. I keep the brightness somewhat in the middle. I showed a picture of the lights at the lowest and highest brightness setting at night. I also showed the fairy lights on along with my main light on, and the fairy lights off. As you can see, the lights are hard to notice when off. In my opinion, that’s nice because they some other lights look bulky when they are off during the day. I got the 69′ with 200 lights so I could have 2 strands on each side of my window. Knowing I would have extra, I safety pinned them to the back of my chair for a suttle glow, rather than draping them over. The remote is very handy. I can see myself falling asleep with them on, so I can turn them off from my bed. (that is also what the timer is for, but I am not sure if I am going to use it yet.) The lighting is very similar to what how it’s described, "white light". The main picture is much more of a yellow light than my lights, which I am fine with. I initially bought them to hang around my small studio to create a nice glow without having a bunch of bright lights on. I’ve also used them for parties and Christmas. So here’s what I love. It was more than long enough to string around my studio. The lights don’t get hot so I can leave them on for a long time without worry of them burning the wall. I can adjust the brightness from almost a dim nightlight setting while watching a movie to making them almost as bright as a lamp!
